The Creative Curriculum
The philosophy behind our Curriculum is that young children learn best by doing. Learning is not just repeating what someone else says; it requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work and to learn firsthand about the world we live in.
Children explore the world around them by using all their senses in their early years. In using real materials such as blocks and trying out their ideas, children learn about sizes, shapes, and colors and they notice relationships between things.
Infants 3-12 Months Old
At Sweet Start Academy, we know every moment with an infant is precious. Our child care professionals work hard to bond with your baby and develop trust.
Our infant daycare room is designed to make babies feel safe, secure, and happy. In this nurturing environment, your baby is not only loved and cared for, but highly trained teachers work to stimulate cognitive, emotional, and physical development.
We provide you with daily communication with our baby’s report which includes all of the details you want to know: eating, sleeping, diapering and developmental milestones plus your baby’s special moments throughout the day.
In this program your child will learn:
- Listening and speaking skills
- Self-confidence
- Getting along with others
Toddlers 1-2 Years Old
We offer a fully balanced day; a caring atmosphere; reassuring routine and stimulating activities provide toddlers with a sense of security.
Your child is opening his or her eyes to the wider world and taking an active role in it, with boundless energy! We embrace that energy and channel it into active, sensory-based, meaningful experiences. We emphasize your child’s development, rather than specific age, because all children grow and learn at their own pace, and in their own unique way.
Our early learning program and curriculum are designed to enhance the cognitive, gross motor, fine motor, social, emotional, speech and language development of each child.
In this program your child will learn:
- Self-help skills
- About making friends
- Alphabet and number introduction
Preschool 3 Years Old
Your child is becoming more and more curious every day. It’s that natural sense of curiosity that we at Sweet Start Academy use to teach them to learn and grow.
Your child will flourish in an environment filled with child initiated activities that balance play and discovery by teacher direction and instruction. Early pre-schoolers are guided in making an important transition from individual play to group play. Creative activities encourage self expression through movement, painting and dramatic play.
In this program your child will learn:
- Cooperation and communication skills
- Pre-reading skills
- Pre-writing, small muscle activities
- Pre-math skills

At Sweet Start we will do more than prepare your child for success in elementary school.
Individual attention and a strong emphasis on reading and math provide each child with a solid foundation for elementary school success. Our Pre-K classroom is designed to help your child make significant developmental gains, communicate more successfully, and work well both independently and in group situations will do more than prepare your child for success in elementary school.
Building on Preschool learning, Pre-K learning focuses on problem-solving, responsive listening and language usage, as well as social and collaborative skills.
In this program your child will learn:
- Problem-solving
- Responsive listening and using language to learn
- Social and collaborative skills (respecting others and working together)
- Reading skills (matching letters to sounds, recognizing familiar words)
- Writing skills (using letters and other symbols to create written messages)
- Math skills (simple addition and subtraction, sorting and classifying objects)
- Physical skills with complex or combined movements (jumping rope, climbing)
Summer Camp – Ages(5-8)
All kinds of sports and games are played outdoors while indoor board games and camp activities take place.
Your child can take an escape and enjoy all the fun of summer while learning skills to help him grow. School-agers participate in a variety of activities each week, with plenty of amazing things to discover about the week’s theme.
Our Summer Field Trips extend your school-age child’s learning and play beyond the classroom. Summer camp is perfect for younger children too! During June, July and August, your younger child will continue to learn and grow through fun themed activities and special guests.
Before and After School
From homework help to fun physical activities, our before and after school education program is designed so that everyone goes home happy.
School-age kids age 6-8 want to feel all grown up, yet they still crave comfort and security. So instead of just daycare, our child care program is designed to support their increasing interest in sports, art, music and more, both before and after school.
Teachers provide a balance of organized and self-selected activities, all in a positive, supportive atmosphere. Whether relaxing, doing homework or having fun with friends. And you’ll have peace of mind knowing your child is safe and having fun.
Ballet
Our Ballet program introduces children to dance in a creative, fun, and friendly learning environment.
We offer Ballet Programs through Florida Dance Inc., a business that offers quality dance classes to Schools and Child Care Centers. Florida Dance teachers are highly qualified and most hold a Bachelor degree in Dance. The goal of this program is to teach the love for dance to our students while they learn discipline, improve flexibility, foster movement creativity, enhance self-esteem, increase strength, develop motor skills and coordination, and expand music appreciation.
Karate
Let us help you develop the skills they need throughout life.
New we offer a USA National Karate Programs through USAIKS-Florida. This program teaches your children to have respect for themselves and others, self-discipline, focus, excellent physical shape, development good psycho-motor coordination, in a safe and exciting way. Our karate provide superior instruction in child safety, stranger awareness and bully prevention.
